RYA Dinghy Start Sailing - Stage 2 / 3 (8 -16 yrs) 5 days

The RYA Youth Sailing Scheme offers a progressive learning experience in small dinghies, creating a safe and enjoyable environment where young sailors can develop their skills under the guidance of experienced instructors.

This course is designed for participants who have completed Stage 1 or 2 and are ready to building upon their sailing skills. Participants will work towards earning their next RYA Youth Sailing Scheme Stage certificate, with the possibility of completing some elements of further Stages.

Course content includes:
- Stage 2: Develop confidence in tacking, gybing, and handling the boat in various conditions. Emphasis is placed on learning collision avoidance, improved boat control, and sailing efficiently on all points of sail.Develop confidence in tacking, gybing, and handling the boat in various conditions.
- Stage 3: Progress to sailing more independently, mastering maneuvers like sailing around a triangular course, improving speed control, and further developing skills in tacking, gybing, and handling the boat in different wind conditions.

Additionally, where feasible, the course will cover:
- Understanding more advanced principles of sailing
- Enhancing boat control, including improved ropework and safety awareness
- Developing independent decision-making skills on the water


Participants should bring their logbook to record progress and achievements.

Requirements:
- Prior completion of Stage 1 or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 4 participants is required for a course to proceed. If this minimum is not met, the course may be rescheduled or canceled.
